World No Tobacco Day 2017 is fast approaching, with the World Health Organisation-sponsored event taking place on May 31st. Whether you’re a smoker or not, it’s a great event to get involved with if you want to help spread awareness of the dangers of tobacco.
People around the world will be showing their support for the event using the hashtag #NoTobacco. The day is all about working together to overcome the threat that tobacco represents to societies’ health, development and economic well-being.
Global events like World No Tobacco Day are great for raising awareness and supporting those who are struggling to quit smoking, but that doesn’t mean you should wait until then to get the Smoke Free Habit. Every day that you delay quitting smoking increases your risk of health complications like strokes, heart disease and cancers.
If you’re looking for more immediate support to give up smoking, and get the Smoke Free Habit, then One You Cheshire East can help. Visit our page https://oneyoucheshireeast.org/be-smoke-free/ for free advice and support, as well as links to apps and other resources designed to help you give up smoking.
We hope that, smoker or not, you’ll join One You Cheshire East in celebrating World No Tobacco Day 2017. Let’s Quit Together!
