Falls are serious at any age, but breaking a bone after a fall becomes more likely as we get older.
We know how important it is to remain mobile and independent.
Reducing your risk and fear of falling is possible with our free Otago strength and balance training programme.
This gentle exercise programme helps you improve your strength, balance and mobility.
We will start by providing you with a screening assessment and make a plan to help you. You will then work with a qualified Health Coach to learn exercises that will help you feel more stable.
The programme lasts for 26 weeks and sessions are 1 x 60 minutes per week.
The simple exercises are designed for older adults and are adaptable to match all abilities and circumstances. Most of them can be done seated if required.

Are you at risk of falling?
If you answer yes to any of the questions below then our support may be useful to you. You may also wish to discuss your risk of falling with your doctor. If you are aged 65 or more:
- Have you fallen in the last 12 months?
- Do you feel unsteady when standing or walking?
- Do you worry about falling?

*Please note that you must attend an initial assessment with one of our health coaches before joining a class on the timetable below. Please sign up for the programme of your choice and we will book you in for an initial assessment.
New sessions for Stand Strong exercise classes will be available in Bollington, Poynton, Middlewich and Alsager very soon. These will be confirmed in March with times, locations and dates to be updated below.
